This is an underrated walk which consequently sees few tourists. It has some excellent views and exciting pre Inca stone work, it also takes you to one of Peru's most interesting archaeological sites, Chavín de Huantar. There are llamas available now to carry your staff instead of donkeys and make the trip more interesting. The llamas were used by the Pre-Inca and Inca people. Using llamas gives you an impression of the way how people travelled through the country.
